Technology has become such an integral part of today's education.
Students in elementary school are being exposed to so many new types of technology it is easy to see they will surpass their
teachers knowledge before they reach graduation. What can be done? The main goal of educators should be the willingness
to learn about new ways of integrating technology into our classrooms.
On this site, I will illustrate some of the problems and activities
that I have learned through my semester in Technology in Teaching Mathematics course at FSU. I have used several
of the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) to create this site. First, being Creativity and Innovation
which allowed me to use my creative influences to come up with the design and layout of this site. I have also used
a multitude of previous knowledge of computers, mathematics, and technology to help complete this project. NETS standard
3: Research and Information Fluency allowed me to plan out my layouts and organize the information in a logical manner
for others to navigate this site. Not to mention the use of multiple technologies, new skills and information sources
to complete this project. Finally, I have used critical thinking and decision making to complete this project.
(Please see links below for a complete list of all of the Technology and Mathematical Standards.) I have enjoyed
the challenge for it has given me the confidence to branch out and try new ideas that before seemed impossible. THANK
YOU DR. COREY!!
